Basic Shoulder & Knee Arthroscopy

May 2026 we welcomed another Basic Shoulder & Knee Arthroscopy Course in collaboration with Arthrex.

Day one was focused on Shoulder Arthroscopy and was run by course lead Mr Jeremy Stanton.

The course involved debates, lectures and hands-on practice with simulation Alex Shoulder Models.

Content included:

• Beach chair vs Lateral decubitus position
• Portal placement and arthroscopic shoulder assessment
• Sub-acromial decompression and rotator cuff repair
• Bankart's repair
• MUA and arthroscopic capsular release from frozen shoulder

Day two focused on the knee with course lead Mr Mabs Alam.

The day was a mix of discussion, video, Sawbones practical sessions and lectures.

Content included:

• Arthroscopic assessment of the knee
• Loose bodies
• Meniscal repair
• ACL reconstruction
