Introduction to Assisting in Robotics Surgery

This two-day course is led by Estelle Martin, a Surgical Care Practitioner at ESNEFT and Mr. Subash Vasudevan.  Its aim is to teach First Assistants, SCPs and Senior Scrub Practitioners extra skills in assisting in robotic surgery.

The programme includes:

• Overview of Xi robot and the importance of port placement
• Docking and undocking the robot with hands-on practice
• The importance of human factors and good communications in robotics theatres
• Observed live theatre sessions
• Troubleshooting when supporting a robotic procedure
