The Fellowships
Colchester General Hospital, Colchester, UK
Professor Roger Motson, FRCS
Colchester General Hospital is a 600-bed hospital serving a population of 340,000. The five Gastrointestinal surgeons in the Department of Surgery are all advanced laparoscopic surgeons, four of whom regularly perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery (the fifth being an upper GI surgeon). The department hosts regular courses covering all aspects of advanced laparoscopic surgery and there is the opportunity to experience these other aspects of laparoscopic surgery during the Fellowship. This is a clinical hands-on Fellowship. Research opportunities are available. The Clinical Fellow will be on the On-Call rota with the Specialist Registrars.
