Donald Menzies has had many years experience of laparoscopic surgery starting as a Registrar at The Royal London Hospital in 1990. In 1993 as a Senior Registrar at addenbrooks Hospital. Cambridge he worked closely with David Dunn, one of its early pioneers. He was appointed as Consultant Surgeon at Colchester General Hospital in 1994. Donald has completed the largest personal series of laparoscopic oesophagectomy and gastrectomy in the UK and is currently involved in the development of laparoscopic resectional surgery for gastric and oesophageal cancers in collaboration with the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (ALS), Association of Upper Gastro-Intestinal Surgeons (AUGIS) and the Minimally Invasive Gastro-Oesophageal Cancer Surgery Study group (MIGOCS).
