This two-day course is designed to provide an introduction to safe surgical practice within a controlled workshop environment. It covers open surgery, wound management and minimal access surgery. There is intensive hands-on practice of basic skills plus personal feedback on performance and advice for further practice.

This course was developed and quality assured by the Royal College of Surgeons,
www.rcseng.ac.uk/courses

This three-day course is designed to provide surgical trainees with the technical skills required to perform the most common laparoscopic general surgical operations: cholecystectomy, appendectomy and repair of a perforated duodenal ulcer. The emphasis is on practical exercises using bench-top models. There is individual tuition and personal feedback on performance with advice for further practice.

The course fee includes all tuition, a course DVD and a 2-course hot lunch on each of the three days.

The course has been agreed on an intercollegiate basis and trainees who complete the course will be issued with certification that will be reciprocally recognised by all four Royal Surgical Colleges.
